Mike was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. During high school he relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia at the end of his high school career, during which he lettered in track and field, baseball and football.
He attended James Madison University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and pursued a minor in Biology.

In addition to being named to the JMU Judicial Council (2000), Mike earned a spot on the JMU football team as a linebacker (1997-1999) and was an active member of the co-ed service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega.
Following his undergraduate work, Mike completed his legal education at Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey where he obtained his juris doctor.
He earned a Pro Bono Service Award for his work in assisting domestic violence victims in the South Bronx obtain civil orders of protection through the New York state court system.

After law school, he returned to Massachusetts and for nearly a decade Mike grew and managed his own successful civil litigation practice in the greater Boston area with a focus on plaintiff and land use matters, before relocating to Southern California.

Before joining Strongin LLP, Mike served as senior corporate counsel to DISH Network/Boost Mobile, and in a government relations capacity for Verizon Wireless.
Mike is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and California.

Mike’s philanthropic interests include volunteering with Brother Benno’s, a local thrift store and soup kitchen supporting the unhoused, fundraising for Foundation Fighting Blindness, the Carlsbad Education Foundation, and contributions to Autism Society of San Diego. Mike enjoys spending free time close to the beach with his wife, Dinean, and watching his fifteen year-old son, Jack play soccer.
